Full Day Preschool Coming Soon!

Full day preschool coming soon Behavior Place

A few weeks ago, we asked you to reflect on 2018 with us and celebrate all that you and your families have accomplished. Now that we are a few weeks into the new year, we are setting goals, and looking forward! The Behavior Place is excited to see what 2019 brings. As you’re making goals for your family and looking forward to a great year, we wanted to share some facts with you about full-day ABA.

The Behavior place is the only full-day, center based ABA program, in Orange County, NY. Looking for a full day program for your kiddo? Look no further! Our program is located in Goshen and meets Monday-Friday from 9am-3pm.

Still trying to decide if full-day ABA is right for your family? Research shows that children between the ages of 2 and 5 who receive intensive behavioral treatment (30-40) hours per week out perform children who are enrolled in special education public school programs. Also, center based ABA programs have been shown to be superior to home-based services in teaching children more skills in a shorter period of time.

Now you might be wondering, “What does a full day of ABA look like?”  This isn’t a one size fits all answer! Each child’s program is individualized to meet their unique needs. Embedded in the full day program are skills which can include: play and social skills, requesting items (mands), sharing, turn taking, labeling items (tacts), and functional communication. We also work on self help skills throughout the day like potty training and washing hands. For some skills, we work on the skill when the opportunity arises (incidental teaching) and other skills we program for and work on more directly.
