Introducing Danielle!!! and Open Enrollment Tips

Introducing Danielle

Hello everyone!  My name is Danielle Ingrassia and I am one of the clinical supervisors at The Behavior Place.  I wanted to reach out and introduce myself to everyone and share a little background information of why I LOVE ABA!  I first fell in love with the field of Applied Behavior Analysis when I began working for my local school district, as a teaching assistant, in a self-contained classroom for children with Autism.  From then my knowledge, passion, and expertise has grown over the past 12 years. Prior to graduating from The Sage Colleges in 2016 with my master’s degree, I have worked in several school districts, clinical, and home based settings.  Working in a variety of settings has helped shape my career, my ability to successfully implement data-driven strategies to a variety of diverse learners, and to work efficiently with parents and caregivers. I am a New York State Licensed and Board Certified Behavior Analyst.  I received my Masters degree in Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis, from The Sage Colleges in 2016. I received my Bachelors degree in Childhood Education, from Mount St. Mary College in 2013. In addition, I am a New York State Certified teacher for Childhood Education and Students with Disabilities.  I pride myself on being a committed and dedicated professional who strives daily to ensure the needs of the individuals I work with are met. I strongly believes that through teamwork and working closely with family members, outside providers, and school personnel will ensure an effective and well-rounded program for the individual.  My number one goal is to build a relationship with all team members in order to collaborate together to help each individual become as independent as possible. Being in the field and working hand in hand with my team and family members has shown me first hand the positive outcomes of correctly implemented ABA strategies and we have the data to prove it!

Open Enrollment Tips

Open enrollment is a period of time each year where you are able to sign up for health insurance.  November is typically the month where most employers have their open enrollment period. Most employers allow you to sign up for or change other job-based benefits during open enrollment.  For example, you may be able to:

Generally, these changes are only allowed to be made during the open enrollment period, with an exception of extenuating circumstances (ex: lost your job, moved, had a baby, got divorced or married, and/or aged out of parent’s plan).

With open enrollment season being right around the corner, now is the perfect time to double check your benefits, and look into what is currently being covered, and not covered through your insurance.  If you have a family member with an autism diagnosis open enrollment is the perfect time to make sure that you have ABA benefits for that individual. ABA can be thought of as applying behavioral principles to behavioral goals and carefully measuring the results. The best part is that your insurance company will pay for that individual to receive these services!

The Behavior Place is a company located in Goshen NY that is founded on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis.  The Behavior Place is dedicated to partnering with families to meet the unique needs of each individual child and their family.  Our providers use empirically-based strategies, based on the science of behavior, to teach your child the skills necessary to become independent learners, communicators, and individuals.
