The Behavior Place ABA Tidbit-self management

What is self management?

Everyone typically has some form of a personal goal. In order to set yourself up to succeed with these goals, you first must learn to manage your behavior. In ABA there are some strategies that can help with managing your behavior, and they are called self-management. These strategies are used to help teach you to independently complete tasks and to also take an active role in reinforcing and monitoring your own behavior. Within self-management, you must set goals, monitor your behavior, and evaluate the progress. A few great examples could be time management, organization skills, and stress management. The key to self-management is taking an active role in managing your own behavior on your targeted goal.
